First of all - yesterday was our 3rd anniversary! I love you so much Kevin and am so happy to be your wife! Thank you for spoiling me yesterday with lunch, flowers, and a lovely dinner. I can't believe how our life has changed in the last 3 years! It gets better everyday!
Boy are things changing! It is amazing what a difference a week makes! Our child is developing at a rapid pace! First and foremost…he is officially crawling! We thought it would never happen – but it has. And – now he is making up for lost time! His crawling technique is rather interesting – I’ll have to post a video soon. He uses his left knee but his right foot. It is funny. He has gotten quite good at it and my life is definitely changing! He was soooooo easy for sooo long. I guess it was time for things to be shaken up a bit!
So much started happening literally the day of his 9 month check up. That very day he started standing in his crib. A few days later he had mastered sitting up on his own and now he pops right up. That next Monday I taught him to clap. He is so cute when he claps. He’s also been giving the sweetest kisses for several weeks now. And then last week he finally figured out crawling!
He has always loved standing so much so we thought we should buy him a toy where he could do that rather than hanging out around the coffee table all the time and well banging on it. We went to the toy store to look for the toy above and got a pleasant surprise when they were buy 1 get 1 FREE! We were pumped. So not only did he get the awesome table above, he got the cool shopping cart seen in the pics below. He’s not quite ready to cruise with the cart, but at the rate he’s going, I’m guessing it won’t be long.

I think he’s enjoying the new toys – what do you think?
A little less exciting milestone is that he has started throwing little fits. What?!? My sweet son? How is that possible? I don’t know – but let me tell you, it is. It is so funny to see this whole little personality emerge. Funny and well a little scary. He has frequently decided that he’s not really into having his diaper changed or putting on clothes and makes it well quite a challenge to get the job done. Tues was his first day of the new daycare and I was more than anxious to begin with. He decided he didn’t want to put on clothes or have a diaper. It felt like he was testing me. It was slightly amusing and cute to see his bare little bottom crawling off, but also rather frustrating! I’m the mom – I should have control, right? I didn’t want to hurt him by man handling him to flip back over – whew. Eventually the diaper was put on and the clothes were, too. And I had an entire day of severe anxiety. He was fine at the daycare and his new teacher is rather lovely. Kevin and I spent our lunch hour there with him and talking with her. Little does she know – she’s got a mini Kevin on her hands! :) Kevin’s mom has told me stories of how he was a “challenging” child when he was a toddler. He is sweet as can be now, but it took some work to channel his aggression. So far Will’s fits have been minor, but it gives me a glimpse of what could be to come. :) I love you Kevin!!
Even with his fun new toys, he still does a lot of this…
Just look at this face below! He continues to be the sweetest little boy in the world! Though things are changing and getting more challenging, it is so fun to see him become a little person. He’s an amazing gift and I don’t take that lightly. I am thankful, more thankful every single day that I am his mommy. I may not know what I’m doing, but together we’ll figure it all out.
Just pray the falls and bumps are minimal – man does that scare me when he bites it. Ugh. Pray we parent this amazing boy to the best our abilities. And pray that he feels as loved as he is!
