Little Helper

We have the best little helper in the world! He is definitely the cutest! He loves to sit in his bumbo and help us do whatever we need. Here he joined us for dinner and helped us with entertainment!4 mos 001Who doesn’t want this cutie at their dinner table? 4 mos 005He is also an excellent helper for mommy in the morning while she gets ready. It probably takes mommy longer to get ready these days, but it is definitely more enjoyable! 4 mos 009I just love his hair freshly combed! 4 mos 011He is also a good helper in the kitchen. He sits here while mommy gets the bottles ready for the day. He’s not sure what to think about all this helping. 4 mos 016Nothing sweeter than a freshly bathed baby in their pj’s asleep on daddy. Be still my heart! 4 mos 017He is so funny when he sleeps. This kid is all over the bed! It doesn’t matter where/how we lay him, he’ll flip into 15 different positions throughout the night. This particular morning he wanted to be snug against the bumper. Maybe it was warmer there? 4 mos 022Good thing we have this sleep sack, a blanket would never stay on the kid! 4 mos 023I feel bad having to wake him up in the mornings – but he is always happy when we do. Poor little sleepy head! 4 mos 024We had a pee situation this particular morning so we changed his diaper and stripped him down. He was so cute without his clothes on we needed pics! 4 mos 027 4 mos 032

Well, today we are going to start the house hunt. Living in a 2 bedroom condo is a little hard with a baby. It works, but man is it cramped! We are ready to get some space. I kind of dread the selling of the condo and finding the perfect place for our family. I know I don’t need to worry too much about it, though, as whatever is going to happen will be best for us. I get a little controlling sometimes and want to know exactly when/where things will happen. Luckily Kevin is handling a lot of the details. Soon we’ll put our condo on the market. Keeping it clean everyday will be so fun! :) Anyway, today we are going to start looking and just see what is out there. Wish us luck!

Quick Update

Sorry, no pics today. Working full time means it is hard to find blog time!! And, sadly I haven't taken that many pics over the last week. But I did want to do a quick update as Mr. Will is changing so much everyday!

We had a rough weekend. I got a horrendous 24 hour bug. My mom got it, too. Tricia and Dylan got a little version of it. I am guessing the culprit was from Will, though he only had very minor symptoms. He was pretty fussy this weekend, which was tough since I felt stellar!

Aside from the gross germs in our place, Will has been doing so much more lately! He is really starting to work on those fine motor skills. He's a strong boy and he has no problems rolling over, sitting with minimal assistance, pushing up on his legs, etc. We are trying to work on grasping, though. He hasn't quite gotten there, yet. Just over the last few days he has started reaching for his bottle when he sees it and grasping onto toys better. He was always swinging arms away and would hit them randomly, but now he is using his cute little fingers in slow motion to reach out and tough things. It is crazy to see his progression! His new favorite thing is to make changing his diaper a huge challenge! He plants his feet and pushes his bottom up in the air. And he giggles the whole time he's doing it. He knows he's making life difficult! Little stinker! He has also been looking out the window when we drive in the car. I find that interesting for some reason. He would usually just stare at his animals or his mirror. Now I find him looking out the window.

Well, that's just a quick update. I need to get working! Hope to post some pics of the cutie pie soon! Hope all is well with you!

4 mos.

Well, Will Ryan is another month older.  Just like every other month, I am so surprised time is flying by so quickly.  Everyday Will gets a little sweeter and a little cuter.  He is really starting to interact with us more.  He even seems to flirt a little with pretty ladies!

He had his 4 month check-up today.  As expected, the doctor said he was perfect!  The poor guy has had the runniest nose over the last week.  He’s been waking up throughout the night the last several nights and I think he has a hard time breathing when he has the paci in his mouth.  Unfortunately there isn’t much we can do about it.  Hopefully it will clear up soon!  Luckily Kevin had the day off and he didn’t have to be miserable at daycare today.

Here are his 4 month stats:

Height:  25 1/4 inches (55%)

Weight:  13.9 pounds (30%)

Head size:  41.5 (25%)

So he’s still long and lean.  Not a big guy, but he’s healthy.  Definitely 100% on cuteness!  Here are some recent pics.

If he gets something (anything) in his hands, it goes straight to the mouth.  Yum.   3 mos 084Here he’s got a toy in each hand.  You go Will! 3 mos 086He’s still not a fan of tummy time. 3 mos 091Love this happy little boy! 3 mos 092Smile for the camera more Will!  Makes me a happy momma! 3 mos 094Once again…toy in the mouth.  Even turtle! 3 mos 095Love him in his pj’s! 3 mos 102Here’s our happy boy on Sunday. 3 mos 105Mommy is so proud of you Will!! 3 mos 109Daddy is so proud, too! 3 mos 112Oh I love me some Will cheeks! 3 mos 118Here’s the poor guy this afternoon.  He had a rough day!  He was not happy ALL day.  I guess we couldn’t expect him to be after getting shots.  What do you like to do after a rough day?  Veg!  Apparently so does Will! 3 mos 121Mom…do you know how rough my day was?? 3 mos 123

Here he is in the 5 min. he was happy today.  :(  Still sweet, though!3 mos 126How cute is finding your husband and son crashed out on the couch together?  Adorable!3 mos 128Ally got Will this cute outfit for Christmas.  How dapper is he??  Love his shoes!  His first pair of Sperry’s!3 mos 131A big smile for the camera! 3 mos 132  Well, that’s the scoop.  All is well here in the Tooker house.  I am still trying to get used to leaving Will at daycare.  It is still really hard.  I have severe separation anxiety right now.  At about 4:00 I can barely stand it.  This is going to be a long week – my first full week.  Pray the knot in my stomach goes away!  Everyone says it will get better.  I sure hope so.

The Best...

Yesterday was a really hard day for me emotionally. I was off on Mon, so I guess we had a hard time getting back into the swing of things. I did great yesterday morning dropping Will off at daycare. He seemed okay. He had a bit of a runny nose, though. I went over at lunch to check on him and they said he had been really fussy all morning. Like they couldn't put him down fussy. Break my heart...into pieces. So I decided to go ahead and feed him since it had been 2 1/2 hours. He got tired of course (because he hadn't really napped all morning) and so I tried to put him in his crib. The reality is, I can't go over and hold him while he sleeps for an hour everyday. As much as I would love to, that won't work. He was asleep for about 5 min and then just woke up to the smallest noise. Light sleeper. Ugh.

Then...he rolled over and just looked at me like...mom...it's you! He smiled and started chuckling (cutest thing ever) and just talked and talked and talked. It was the cutest thing. He knows me. It felt so good. I finally had to walk away. And of course, I walked away fragile. I get to work and start boo hooing. I mean, he had a rough morning and then laughs and smiles when he sees me. I just wanted to go spend time with him.

So we get home - he's asleep, of course, because he always falls asleep on the way home. I wake him up after about 30 min, because I want to play! And play we do! I put him on the floor and he just talked and talked and talked. More than I've ever heard him talk before. Daddy had to work late so I got to do bath time. This was the BEST! I poured water on his head and a little got in his eyes and he thought that was the funniest thing he'd ever experienced. I mean he didn't just chuckle, he cracked up laughing. I did it over and over again, of course and he kept laughing. Oh my goodness...talk about the best feeling in the whole world. I swear I fall more in love with him everyday. Now I know what my sister-in-law always meant when she said Dylan woke up cuter today. Everyday they grab a little more of your heart. As hard as earlier in the day was, the day wasn't so bad after hearing that sweet boy laugh away. Love...

Feet and other fun stuff

I am off again today and decided to blog about some of the fun stuff going on over the last week or so.  Will was definitely spoiled at Christmas and got lots of fun new stuff.  Here he is trying out a few toys.3 mos 013

What cha lookin’ at turtle?? 3 mos 014

Aw – turtle isn’t so bad.  :) 3 mos 017This was just funny.  Mimi found a fun little spot for him to sit.  He loved sitting like this.  The funny thing is he stared down his bottle for the longest time!  I wonder what he was thinking.  He didn’t want it if she gave it to him, but he sure looked like he did! 3 mos 020 Mimi spent some time with us this weekend.  She was kind enough to rescue Will from daycare early on Friday!  Thank you Mimi!  She got to spend some good time playing with Mr. Will.  Dustin & Dylan came over on Sat and hung out for awhile – which was fun, of course!  Here is Mimi with her favorite men.3 mos 030Sweet cousins. 3 mos 031

Here’s Will’s newest trick.  He has definitely found his feet!  He had been looking at them for weeks.  Just recently he has started grabbing them and playing with him.   He came so close to getting them in his mouth!  Yum.  If he is laying just right, you can bet the feet are up in the air.3 mos 036Impressive height, Will! 3 mos 040Hey mom – did you know I have 2 feet?? 3 mos 041 He’s got a good grip.  So cute!  Always a new phase!3 mos 043Mr. Will is getting close to outgrowing his tub.  He has started planting his feet on the end of the tub.  He’ll also scoot down in the tub where his ears are underwater.  He can’t go all the way under because the seat is there so he just lounges.  This is one of the few that was pg rated.  :)

These are fun pj’s.  This is the same number daddy wore! 3 mos 066 3 mos 072 Last night I had forgotten it came with a helmet.  I remembered this morning and snapped another pic.

The little cutie is napping right now.  I started this post hours ago.  We’ve been playing and talking as much as possible.  He’s been fighting taking naps which is driving me just a little bit crazy.  I don’t know why he does not want to nap.  I probably have spoiled him by letting him nap in the swing lately, but he needs naps and the swing works.  No wonder he can’t sleep at daycare.  The strange thing is he goes right to sleep at night in his crib.  He sleeps all night long 98% of the time.  I can’t figure out for the life of my why napping is so different.  Hopefully as he is at daycare consistently he’ll figure out the nap thing.  Other than that, he is a perfect baby.  I am one lucky momma!  Every time he has that serious look and I smile at him and talk to him and he gives me that huge gummy grin, oh I just melt.  I love being a mommy!!

Surviving

Well, Will and I are surviving our first week apart. It has been a really hard adjustment, but we will get there. The first day was really hard. Handing your child over to ladies you don't know was painful. They are very sweet ladies and we will get to know them, but that first time was so hard. Of course I cried and cried and had a hard time leaving, but I did it. I did a little better than I thought I would. We went in around 10 on Monday. We were there for about an hour. I left him and drove around crying for quite awhile. I pulled it together, ran some errands and went into work for a few hours. I picked him up at 4. I was convinced he was mad at me when I picked him up. He would not look at me. It was so sad. Kevin says I'm crazy and that he isn't capable of being mad, but it sure felt like it.

Tuesday drop-off was surprisingly not that bad. Then around 11, I really started missing him and got all upset again. Luckily, he is right across the street, so I went over and saw him. He had just fallen asleep when I got there, so I just held him for about an hour while he slept. Then it was time to eat, so I fed him. That helped a lot. I have spent a good amount of time there the last 2 days, which has helped to get to know the teachers better. Hopefully we'll get adjusted in a few weeks. Will is not a great napper and is having a hard time getting much sleep there during the day. He's fallen asleep the last 2 days in the car. That's a bummer - I don't want him to sleep on my watch! I want to play and talk. So I am sure it will just take time.

The good news is that I did talk to the partner in charge of our group on Monday and he was okay with my reduced schedule. Yay!! So, I am off today, because I only have to work 24 hrs this week. I needed today to spend with Will for sure. So it is nice. It is cold out, so we're staying in! Pray we both adjust to our new schedules soon.

Caught Up

Well I am finally caught up on all my blogging. I don’t know why I got so far behind. I didn’t feel well and then I had a good bit of things to do around the house to prepare for my return to work on Monday. I think I’ve gotten most everything pretty well organized around here. Plus, I just wanted to concentrate on enjoying every moment with Will. The big return to work is looming. I think I can do it. As I mentioned before I feel a lot better about it knowing he’ll be so close to my office. I do meet with a higher up partner Monday afternoon to try to get my reduced work schedule approved. My immediate partner has approved it so I am praying that he will, too. I figure Monday is going to be a rough day all the way around so I might as well meet with this particular partner and try and get that worked out. I am only going to work a few hours on Monday as I am sure it is going to be hard to concentrate anyway. I’ll let you know how it goes.

I’ve updated several posts – so if you haven’t read here in awhile, keep scrolling on down. I posted a lot.

Oh these cheeks! I love them so! I am definitely going to have to go sneak kisses when I can next week. It is going to be so hard not to be able to get those kisses anytime I want.Christmas 2009 026 Here is a good pic of G.J. and Will spending some time together.Christmas 2009 029 Here is a pic of Will standing. Will has really started changing this last week. I really think he’s filling out a lot more. Look at those cheeks!! His legs are also getting some meat on them, finally! What a good looking kid if I do say so myself.3 mos 011 We combed his hair today. It is starting to come in a little more. Sweet baldy. :)3 mos 004 That smile is the best. Harder than it should be to capture – he generally looks so serious in pictures. Occasionally I’ll get a cute grin. Look how well he is sitting. He sat there for a long time all by himself.3 mos 006
