Mom's Surgery

Well, yesterday mom finally had the knee replacement surgery. For those of you who don't know she has been struggling with this knee for several years. A couple of years ago she had a pretty good fall and that pretty much agitated the knee to the point that something needed to be done. She had the full replacement yesterday. Please say a pray for her! She is in a tremendous amount of pain. The pain is to be expected, but you hate to see her miserable. They did some work to her ligaments, also. So, her calf muscles are also very sore. She'll be in the hospital for a few more days and then she'll have home health rehabilitation. They had her up walking today, which is crazy. She did really well but just is very uncomfortable. The pain meds are making her feel very hot, which is also a bummer (since they took her fan away because it wasn't 3 prong). Pray for healing and a manageable pain level.

Congrats Tricia!

Congratulations Tricia!
Tricia (Dustin's wife) got the job she interviewed for this week!! She just found out today! The best part (selfishly for me) is that it is for a job in Lake Highlands! That is the neighborhood we would like to move to so that means they might end up moving near there, too! I am so excited! This has been a week of good news! It would mean so much to have my son grow up near my awesome nephew. We're so happy for you Tricia! Congrats!!!!!

It's a....

BOY!!!!
We are definitely having a little boy! I am so excited! It was so crazy to see! I am still a little emotional. It seems so special now to be able to say him...instead of it. I can't wait to meet our little boy!
Here is his first embarassing pic! Boy parts in plain sight!
And a profile pic. Can't believe that is our baby!! What a blessing to have a healthy baby! Everything measured perfectly! The baby weighs 1lb. 2oz. right now. The measured due date is Sept 17th - which is only a day off than the original - Sept 18th. I am so excited!!! Now we just need a name for the little guy!!

Nashville Trip

So this past weekend we had the pleasure of visiting Kevin's sister Kellie and her husband Nick at their home right outside of Nashville (Murfreesboro to be exact). We had such a good time and we were glad to finally have made a trip up there! Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate and it seemed to rain all weekend, but we had fun even so. We did get to have sweet tea at every single restaurant! Love that! They were so sweet to tote us around and entertain us. It just made us wish they lived closer so we could do it more often!
They took us to dinner at the Gaylord Opry. It was huge! It is much bigger than the Gaylord Texan. I tried to catch pics of the cool water fountain show - but ended up just getting some good pics of us.

It was great to finally see their beautiful house. I wish I had taken pics of each room because each one looked like it came straight from a magazine. Kellie is in the field of interior design and did an amazing job decorating their home. I am hopeful she'll help me out the next time we move with some decorating tips. It is not my strong point!
Thanks Kellie & Nick for having us and entertaining us for the weekend! We look forward to your next visit to Texas. We're hoping you'll move here someday, but until then, we'll just have to plan more trips!

Weekend in Oklahoma

So I finally have a few minutes to post pics from the weekend. We went to Oklahoma for my sister-in-law Tricia's graduation. We had so much fun and were so glad to be able to celebrate the special occasion with her. We are so proud of her for working so hard with a husband and a child to take care of along the way! Congratulations Tricia! Thanks for having us up and letting us be a part of the weekend!

Here is the graduate looking fantastic after the most amazingly efficient ceremony I've ever been to: The school mascot:

The baby is moving!

So I am definitely feeling the baby moving these days. I've been feeling it for about a week. The last few days it has really picked up. That is such a good feeling to be able to feel it being active. It really got going last night when I was laying down and Kevin was able to really feel it for the first time. I am sure it was just wired after the crazy Mavs game we went to! One week until the sonogram!

Weekend Full of Fun

So this past weekend we had all sorts of fun stuff going on. The weekend before we did pretty much nothing - so we made up for it this time. The next few weekends will be busy, too. May is just a busy month, I guess.

Anyway, we started off the weekend with a Rangers game with Justin & Lindsey. They were sweet enough to take us for Kevin's birthday gift. We had a great time. Fridays are great nights to go because parking is only $5 and they have fireworks! (Just a little Rangers plug). The weather ended up being perfect and it was a great night to hang out with some of our favorite people and watch some baseball. They didn't win, but Ian Kinsler did start off the night with his very first swing being a home run. That was fun.
Here are some pics of the awesome fireworks:

Here is a pic of our fantastic hosts - Justin & Lindsey

Here is Kevin & I. The hair is a little frizzy due to the humidity. :)

Friday night we crashed at my mom's house in Ft. Worth. We didn't get to spend too much time with her, but we did stay up watching a pretty good Dateline. One of my favorite shows. Saturday morning we got up early and drove out to Breckenridge, TX to the ranch that Kevin's boss owns. It was so neat to go out there and see where Kevin had been going once a week for months. He has really enjoyed getting out of the city and being a part of this place - so I was glad to see it in person. The Terry's were kind enough to have us out to spend the day/evening with them and attend a Polo on the Prarie event. Jack Ingraham played after the dinner - which was a lot of fun. We missed the polo match, but had a good dinner and good concert. It was crazy cold and I was not at all prepared. Mr. Terry was sweet enough to offer me a camo jacket he had in his car. I didn't look very cute - but I didn't care! I didn't get a pic of that lovely ensemble. We stayed the night there in their lodge - which was a treat.

Here is a pic on one of the ridges looking out towards their property:

Here is Kevin checking things out:

Kevin in the great room of the lodge. This room was amazing:

Then...on Sunday morning we got up early and drove back to Dallas to meet my wonderful mother-in-law, Allyson, for her birthday lunch! Happy Birthday Ally! Ally is the name she decided on for the grandchild to call her. We think it is perfect. We met at Chuy's - yum! We had a great lunch and a great time catching up. Kayse was in town so we got to spend some time with her, too.

Kayse got Ally the cutest pillow in honor of the upcoming arrival:

A great pic of Ally & Aunt Kadawg:

And a pic of us!

So the weekend was fantastic but by Sunday afternoon - I crashed for a lengthy nap! This weekend we drive to Oklahoma for Tricia's graduation! We are so excited to celebrate this great occassion with her! Looking forward to it!
