All that chatter

Well, I just blogged the other day about how Will was chattering the mamamamama sound a lot. Well, he stopped! Now he is onto other sounds. Here are a few clips of all the chatter. It is the sweetest thing to sit and listen to him talk. :)

Monday, Monday

Well, Mondays have become one of my favorite days! I am off and I get to spend the day with Will. I love Mondays!

He is now 8 months old. 8 months! So that only leaves 4 more months of his first year. How in the world is that possible? He is more lovable every single day. His sweet little personality comes out more and more and it is such a joy to watch him grow. He has started saying the “mmmm” sound a lot. It frequently comes out like he is saying momma! I know he really isn’t, but I like to pretend he is! Occasionally he’ll throw out the “b” sound – but right now he is fixated on the ma sound. He jabbers quite a bit these days.

Still no signs of crawling, yet. He is starting to pull up a little. If there is something at the right height he’ll get a hold of it and pull. He plays great with his toys on his own. This one books still seems to be his favorite. It is a Dr. Seuss book that you can take in the bath. He loves it.

He has gotten pretty clingy over the last few weeks. I secretly love that. :) He frequently wants to be held and sometimes doesn’t want to be put down. I usually don’t mind a bit. He loves his daddy! Man does he get excited when daddy walks in the room! He has a wonderful daddy and it makes me so happy to see their bond already.

Still just have the 2 bottom teeth. Look – I finally got a good pic of them! Everyday he helps me bring the mail in. He loves this! And he loves to read what we got. What a sweet, happy boy!

Our good friends Lori and Brian came over with their daughter Meredith on Sat night. We had a great time catching up before Meredith’s little sister comes. I was able to get a quick pic of the 2 kiddos! I still love going in to watch him sleep. He generally always looks like this. Ha. He loves having his blanket up over his head.

Not too much else to report from our household. Life is good! We have no complaints and are so thankful for the blessings we’ve been given.

The Wall

Well, construction is complete on our wall! It turned out fantastic! We kind of knew what we wanted, but weren't really sure how it would turn out. Luckily, we used an excellent contractor that exceeded our expectations (I met his lovely wife at our playgroup). If you ever need anything done to your house - call Matt! To appreciate the greatness of our wall - you have to see the not so greatness of what it used to be. Here's the before (a whole lot of brick):

The wall was instantly updated by covering all the brick with the stone/sheet rock and removing the gold doors.
And we now have a media center (which I need to do some work decorating and hiding the cords). The only thing that is missing is the glass in the doors. That is coming soon.
It feels good to have that complete. And it is funny because we were so thrilled that when we bought the house - we didn't need to do a thing to it. However, Kevin and I had lunch in our empty house the day we closed and got to brain storming - where to put the tv/arrange the couches, etc. I am a huge fan of an open feel and unless we put the tv on that wall, it was really going to section off the room. One thing led to another - and here we are with an awesome new wall. Tonight the McCoy's come over and we watch one of our fave shows on it - can't wait!

What's for Dinner?

Ok, so I am trying really hard to start cooking...regularly. Though Will isn't eating table food, yet, I want to get in the habit of cooking actual food now so that we are good to go when he is. My problem is - what to cook? I spent all of my 20's eating whatever was easy - or having cereal for dinner. I am sad to admit that even in the almost 3 years of marriage I really haven't adopted good cooking habits.

So - for those of you that cook - what do you cook? Seriously, I would love, love, love ideas. I am trying to plan ahead and am sitting here with only a couple of ideas. Send me your recipes/ideas...please! :)

Off to tend to a very fussy baby. Afraid he might have another ear infection - we'll see at 1:30 today.

Nothing original

Sorry, I couldn’t come up with a title today. :)

Well, what’s new in our world? We are trying to settle into the house. We love, love, love it but are so ready to just be able to sit on the couch and chill. Patience. We are having some work done to what was a really ugly brick wall this week. So while that is super exciting, the house is a mess and people are in and out, etc. That should be done hopefully early next week and then Kevin and I are planning to find some time to sit and enjoy it!

We close on the condo tomorrow! Yay! We are quite ready to have that sold. I’ve tried not to really think much about the fact that we have owned 2 properties over the last month. Tomorrow – we’ll own just one. Yay!

This one is to prove that will really has gotten better about being on his tummy. He still doesn’t stay all that long, but lately he has been flipping onto his tummy quite a lot. Go Will! The bath pics as promised. He really enjoys his new bath! It works much better than the small one (he was way too big for it). He’s getting so big. So sad! This one is just because – he’s just so darned cute!

Well, we are about to head to our play group - yay! So excited to be able to go again!

The Last Month

Sadly, it has been awhile since I have had a good Will update. We have had a lot going on, though! Will is doing so well! We had his dedication this past Sunday (pics to come soon) which was so very special. He continues to be the sweetest, most laid back little boy. I continually thank God for allowing me to be his mommy! I know how blessed I am to have this child to raise.

This picture below just cracks me up. I still think it is rather cute to see him sitting and playing on his own. For the last 2-3 weeks he has been sitting very steadily. He rarely plops over anymore. He still isn’t anywhere near crawling, as he doesn’t spend enough time on his tummy to learn. Though, he has been spending more time there – so maybe there’s hope. He may just skip that stage altogether, who knows!

While there are so many great things about our house, one is that we can use the highchair! He loves sitting in it and it is sooo much easier feeding him now. It is really hard to get a pic of his teeth – this is the best I could do! There are two, but you can only see one below. Here’s what he looked like after a long weekend filled with family and friends. He was pooped! I love hanging with this cutie pie! And I enjoy this shirt – ha! His cousin Zach got him this new piano and he loves it! Piano prodigy, maybe? Uncle J and his buddy… Mimi and Papa came in for the dedication and we were so happy to see them. Will got to spend some good time with her! Last Thurs Dust was out of town and Tricia had to be at work super early so Dylan got to spend the night with us and he hung out with Will and I. We had so much fun! Will loved watching Dylan. Here is Dylan performing for Will and Will eating it up. Seriously, Will thought Dylan was hilarious! Will likes to lounge in his highchair. :)We spent a little time outside, it was a beautiful day! Dylan in his cape watching some cartoons. Such sweet cousins!!! I love this!
