Yesterday we had Kendall's first birthday party! It was so much fun! I don't know what got into me, but I just got a little creative and wanted to really make it extra cute and special. I'm not usually so crafty, but having a girl just brings something out of me. I was up pretty late the night before trying to get everything perfect and at some point had to just go to bed. I think it turned out pretty cute. Thanks to pinterest for helping me find the inspiration for this pink/blue/yellow themed party!
The table all set-up. I had recently been to a neighbor's birthday that was donut themed. I immediately thought that would be perfect for her first birthday. We had a morning party so everyone could have the rest of the day free. I even made the little yellow stands myself. Who am I?!?
My amazingly sweet and talented friend, Paula, offered to make her cake. I had seen something similar on pinterest and she duplicated it. I though it was perfect!
Here are a few pics of the decorations around the house.
I might have gone a little over board with the drinks/food. If anyone left hungry or thirsty, I don't know why. I just thought people would feast and drink insane amounts, I guess? We had juice/lemonade/tea/chocolate milk/and coffee!
Kendall in her cute outfit my mom made. Wasn't she just adorable?
Two awesome neighbors let us borrow their bounce houses. It was a great way to entertain the older kids. It ended up being a fun party for Will as half the kids were really his friends. Oh and note the awesome paint job on the patio furniture below. It was a rusty mess and with 13 cans of paint later - wala! A revived furniture set!
Kendall got in for a few minutes and really enjoyed it!
Say cheese! As usual, I didn't get a pic of all our guests. I have to get better at that. Here is Kendall with her buddy, Tucker.
Party favors!
Mommy and Daddy with the Birthday girl!
Kendall with her cake. She loved it, of course. It was so much fun because she was such a ham! She loves attention and had a blast with everything. It made the party so fun! She really eats it up. Attention, that is - see below, she also eats up cake!
She kept patting the top of it.
Yep - she loved the cake!
After a lot of the friends left, we opened her presents. She wasn't too interested in that part, but hung around for a bit. She got some awesome new shoes!
Will was nowhere to be found, but I did have a few helpers...Miles loved her new dress!
Look in the background of this one - Bryce was so sweet. He helped me open a lot of the gifts and he was showing Kendall her new outfit! It was hilarious and so, so sweet.
Oh look, Will was there!
What a wonderful time celebrating this precious girl. We are so thankful to our friends and family that helped us celebrate. We are so thankful that so many people share in loving our girl. We love you so much Kendall and hope you look back one day and see how many people care about you!
