5 Months

Well, this week Will turned 5 months old!  He is becoming such a big boy with such a personality!  He smiles more and more easily and steals our hearts with his precious personality.  He continues to be such a wonderful, easy baby and I thank God for that almost daily.  He stills sleeps like a champ and rarely gets too upset.  When we does, we aren’t sure what to do because we have very little practice.  I know we’re spoiled and am scared to have a 2nd child!

Will is now also eating carrots.  He seems to enjoy those much better than the green beans.  I think I’ll have them start feeding him cereal once at day at school.

He still easily rolls over both ways.  He loves to talk and it is funny how it changes from week to week.  He must find a different sound and seems to get stuck on it for a week or so.  Then he finds a new one.  He squeals at times and is getting better at playing with toys.  Those fingers are progressing!  When either Kevin or I are holding him, he refuses to look at us.  He always looks at the other one of us.  But when friends or family he hold him and they talk, he seems to love to look at them.  We’re not sure why!  If we hold him and look in a mirror, he loves that.  He loves to look at us in a mirror or in someone else’s arms.  So funny!

He still loves his feet but for some reason doesn’t actually put them in his mouth like other kids do.  He still constantly sucks on his fingers.  I am wondering if he is starting to teeth as he is really starting to drool.  It is starting to get everywhere!

He has definitely finally figured out the nap thing!  For months he would just cat nap and wasn’t sleeping well at school at all.  He has been consistently getting an hour to hour and a half nap sometimes twice a day.  Progress!  At home he’ll usually sleep for close to 2 hours for his morning nap.  Things are starting to level out – which is good.

He is just so observant these days.  He gets really distracted taking a bottle if there is other stuff going on around him.  He has to check everything out and frequently needs us to stand rather than sit if we are holding him.  Why do babies do that?  What’s the difference?

Here he is this morning in his church duds.  Sweetest little boy in the world!5 mos 028

Just loves these fingers!  Had a hard time getting a pic without them!5 mos 024

He loves to watch his mobile – which is great in the mornings when I need to distract him for a bit.5 mos 014

I love this pink shirt!  It is actually Dylan’s and I loved it when he wore it.  He seems to know that Real Men Wear Pink! 5 mos 007

Mimi got a chance to spend some time with the boys this weekend.  Mimi rescued Will from school early 2 days last week.  Thanks Mimi!  I think she enjoys spending time with her boys!5 mos 002

Well time to start another work week.  This will be a busy one as I have a deadline.  I’ve done really well so far keeping to my reduced schedule.  I think I’ll have to work more this week, but should resume to normal next week.

Still working on the house thing.  Found a house we love, so we’re just praying the right situation works out.  We have a wonderful condo for sale in Dallas if you know anyone that needs one!  We love it so much, we have just out grown it.

Take care and have a wonderful week!

Be my Valentine!

Happy Valentine’s Day!  Hope you all had a lovely day!  My sweetheart took me to dinner at P.F. Changs last night and to a movie.  He also surprised me with a Nano and got a sweet card from Will.  What a great husband!  He got an A+ for this holiday, while I pretty much flunked.  I find it so hard these days to get out and do much of anything.  By the time I get home from work and spend a few hours with Will, fix dinner, try to do laundry, etc. and get some sleep – I don’t seem to have any extra time.  That is one thing I am vowing to work on – mastering time management.  I am so thankful that I’ll be able to go to 3 days a week in April!  It will be such a blessing to have the extra time to take care of everything.

Things are going well around here.  Had a few showings on the condo – which is always good.  Work is going well.  Will is doing great – no real complaints.

I am bummed that I don’t have any snow pictures to share.  All of my friends blogs have wonderful pics in the snow.  I have none.  I am a terrible mom, I guess.  We just don’t really have a place to take pics here at the condo and I wasn’t on top of things enough to borrow someone else’s yard.  What a snow storm it was!  We did get a snow day on Friday, as Will’s school was closed.  I’m not complaining – I needed it!

Since I am slacking on my blogging – I am cramming everything for the week into one.  Sorry about all the pictures.  I just have to post them all!  :)

This one should just be titled:  Green Beans.  Do you think he liked them??

He actually has been doing great on eating cereal.  I am pleasantly surprised.  He really eats up the apple cereal.  He eats the plain, just not as happily.  We’ve tried peaches and green beans.  As you can tell – the green beans were a bit of a struggle.  But, he ate them.  He kept eating and made that sad awful face every single time he got a bite.  What a sweet boy!

Every chance I get to have him hang out without pants on, we do it.  Look how sweet those legs are!  Still long and lean, but adorable nonetheless!4 mos 087

We watched our Praise Baby dvd for the first time.  He really loved it!  Here is is watching intently.  Thanks Uncle J! 4 mos 095

Again, just fun to see him naked.   4 mos 101Oh these sweet feet! 4 mos 102

Here’s our happy little boy.  I have to throw in any smiling pic I can.  I am sure you can tell our little boy is generally very serious – but not always!  He smiles at us quite a lot…just rarely on camera! 4 mos 108 4 mos 109

Big week!

Well, this was a week full of new adventures. For Christmas several people gave us Toys R Us gift cards for Will. He didn’t really need much and we knew we wanted to get him a big toy to entertain him and work on his hand skills. I decided to go with the Jumperoo because he loves to stand so much. I thought he might enjoy being able to bounce. We were so excited to put it together and see his excitement. The first time we put him in it, he wasn’t that amused. :( He was tired and hungry, so what did I expect? It is a little overwhelming with all the stuff, but I think he will get lots of enjoyment out of it soon enough. He is good picking up the fruit and rolling the chicken thing around. Not bad!

He’s so cute in it. He looks so little!4 mos 0544 mos 037Yum, all these toys and my fingers are my favorite! 4 mos 044

Here’s another huge adventure…baby food! We tried cereal for the first time this week. Apparently he’s not that impressed with rice cereal. It looks pretty gross to me, so I can definitely understand. He just slushes it back out of his mouth. Yummy. It made for some cute pictures, though! I tried peaches with him today and seemed to really like them! He did a lot better than I expected. Mom suggested that I mix some fruit into the cereal, maybe he'll like that better. I'll try that tomorrow.4 mos 049What’s up with this spoon thing mom? 4 mos 051

The last new adventure for the week was a highchair! We went to dinner with some fun friends that Kevin and I used to work with (Lindy & her husband Dustin, Melissa, and Kenton who was in town from D.C.). We had a great time and Will tried out a highchair. He did great. I got this cool cover thing that has straps to buckle him in, which helped. He looked so cute sitting like a big boy!4 mos 062 4 mos 064

Aunt Kayse got Will this cute Florida State outfit for Christmas. He’ll be singing the chop before we know it! 4 mos 035As usual – impossible to get a smile of him! 4 mos 036

I just love this coat on him and I don’t think I’ve had any pics of it. G.J. (Will’s grandpa) bought him this awhile back and we have used it a ton! Thanks G.J.!

Well, our condo is officially on the market. We pray that it sells relatively quickly so that we can buy a home for our family. We have no control over when it sells, so we are trying not to worry too much about it. What will be, will be. We went house hunting again and have a good feel for what we are looking for (and what we are absolutely not looking for!). We’ll see what happens.

Hope all is well!
