We decided about a year ago to take a trip to Disney. I mentioned it to Dustin & Tricia and they decided they were in, too! How fun to take all the kids to Disney for their first trip?!? I was so pumped. It required a lot of upfront planning but it was wonderful!
We knew we wanted to wait until close to the trip to the tell them. I just know how hard it is for kids to understand how far away things are so I thought it would be easier on all of us if we didn't get the "When are we going to Disney for a solid six months!" We decided to tell them the Sunday before we left on Wednesday. In this pinterest day and age - you can't just tell them...no way. You have to make the reveal epic. Ha. Well, I tried to anyway. I had a little scavenger hunt for them. I am not sure they caught onto any of the clues, but they did enjoy running around the house searching.
The final clue led them to the office where this suitcase had their shirts we had made and a letter telling them we were headed to Disney World!!!
Mom and I had bought these Thing shirts for them and her. Hers has a glare but says Grandmother of all things. Cute!
They had also gotten some spend money from Mimi and GJ. These kids were ready for a trip of a lifetime!
This was the first time Kendall had flown and while Will says he remembers flying once - he was only 20 months old. So I don't think he really remembers. They were super cute and ready to go. This is them on the bus from the park and ride.
Anyone surprised Kendall wanted no help with her luggage?
This pic makes my heart SO happy! I love these 4 kids and how cute are they at the airport in these shirts? This pic means the world to me.
Kendall was a toot on the plane. Started out with me and Tricia - ended up with Kevin and Dustin. She was all over the place. And she was likely tired - but too excited to sleep.
The beginning of Kendall's Dylum obsession! She loves her big cousin and fought to sit by him each time on the bus or on the boat, etc.
The first thing official thing we did after arriving was have dinner at Chef Mickey. It was where you could see the Fab 5 (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy & Pluto). It was also crazy over priced and not great food. But we saw characters and didn't' wait in line. I guess that was good. I know we saw Goofy but can't seem to place the pic. Kendall was not a fan of the characters up close. Not at all. She went on and on and on about how she wanted to see Minnie - but when she came over it was a different story. You can see below where I held her and that was as close as she got. For that reason - I am glad we didn't plan to wait in any of the lines to see any of the princesses!
After dinner we headed to Magic Kingdom. It was fun to get there and finally see it! It was hot. We were all fairly tired from traveling but it was great to walk around a bit. I love this pic of Kevin with Kendall on his shoulders and the castle!!
The kids LOVED It's a Small World! Ha! Dylan was not impressed. My kids wanted to ride over and over.
On day 2, we headed to Hollywood Studios. We had breakfast at Hollywood Cafe and the Disney Junior people were there. They were not as good about coming around to the tables but we saw a few. Kendall is completely obsessed with Sofia but would not take a pic with her!
This girl is a mess.
We couldn't NOT have a Sofia pic, so I did the honors. :)
The big excitement that day was for the boys to do Jedi training. Me, mom and Kendall decided to go to the Frozen sing a long while they did that. It was AWESOME! It was so well done. The actors that narrated were impressive and hilarious. And at the end...it snowed! And it was air conditioned. Win, win, and win.
Got to see Elsa and Anna!
She was mesmerized.
This might be my favorite memory of the trip. Everyone rode the Star Wars ride but Kendall was not tall enough. We walked around a bit and saw everyone lining up. Found out it was the Frozen parade - score! So we found a nice little spot at the end of the parade route and there were not many people around us. It was great! Anna (below) spotted Kendall and blew her kisses. Kendall blew kisses back and instinctively held her heart. I seriously thought my heart my explode. It was truly magical. You always hear that but at that moment, I thought it was worth every penny! Good job Disney!
She was thrilled to see them!
Here are the pics from Jedi training. I was not there but heard it was pretty awesome. They got to fight Darth Vader. They were properly trained and then they took him down.
How cute are these guys?!?
Will - so serious!
Toy Story ride was super fun!
Castle pics!
Sweet, sweet cousins.
With my favorite girl on the people mover. She loved this not-ride ride! No line, score!
The kids loved the electric parade! I enjoyed it, too!
Nice evening castle pics
The McCoys and their awesome new hats!
So the pic below proves we have hit the nerd parent phase. I don't know what exactly it is about this pic - possibly the matching clothes, the ultra white legs, or who knows what exactly. But - I just see nerd parent when I see this pic. :) We went to breakfast the next day with the Pooh characters.
I spy Kendall back there! Daddy sneaked her in a pic much to her dismay!
Will happily got hugs from Pooh. So proud.
Will sure looks up to this guy!
I refuse to ride the teacups. Luckily, Aunt Tricia is a better sport about going in circles and took these cuties for a ride.
What a crew!
The whole group in front of the castle!
Extreme heat calls for ice cream!
Hold please while I text my people.
Someone was pooped.
Will picked out an awesome Pluto hat!
Awesome pic, huh? I got a painful ear infection and got to take the bus to get some meds. Yay me.
Kendall asked to have her picture taken with Cinderella. She likes them if they are not live!
The Tooker crew with the big stroller! Also in front of a smaller roller coaster that Kendall could ride. She giggled the whole way through it and would have ridden it over and over!
The last day we went to Animal Kingdom. It was awesome. We did a safari. But man was it hot that day. I would love to go back and do more on a cooler day!
One of my favorite things was the Lion King show - it was incredible! Want to go see it in NYC!
It was also father's day! Got some pics with an amazing daddy!
Uncle Dustin/Aunt Tricia sprung for these funny little stuffed toys that had snaps to cling onto things. Worth every penny.
They even entertained them on the bus ride back!
Well, I am sure I missed something but we did a lot and saw a lot! Wonderful trip and I definitely want to go back (will choose a cooler time of year)! Thanks Disney for the amazing memories!!
