It is Christmastime in the city!

Having a 3 year old around at Christmas makes everything so fun!  His excitement is definitely contagious.  He loves everything (well almost everything, more about that in a bit). We bought him a tree for his room because he was so excited about putting up a tree.  He loves having it as his nightlight!  I let him pick out the ornaments.  Some of them are a bit big for the tree – but this kid was not going to have a tree without a candy cane! This sort of creepy guy arrived.  Will named his elf Joey!  A kid in his class has a new baby brother named Joey and he also has this toy that you can dress up in different outfits named Joey.  Sort of funny.  Anyway, this is the first year we have done the elf thing.  We read the book the first night and it didn’t exactly go as planned.  Will was not happy that Santa would “take his Joey” away!  There were tears.  At the end of the book it says he’ll fly away with Santa and come back next year.  Oh geez.  Will is not a huge fan of this Santa guy. He’s a very cautious kid and he doesn’t like the idea of him coming into our house.  We’ll have to figure this out.  Santa may be leaving gifts on the back porch! This makes me laugh.  Will went with Jeff & Daneille to the parade downtown again this year.  He wanted to wear this hat, which was cute.  He is sweetly playing with Kendall by squeezing her nose – oh brothers!

We decided to go ahead and hit up North Park early this year to do Santa.  Mainly I just wanted to get it over with!  Will isn’t a big fan and I figured it would be an ordeal.  I figured the earlier we went the better.  We decided to take him to the train exhibit so as not to have the whole outing a complete disaster.  This is when I look at my child and know I am so blessed to be his mom.  While he can be an outright stinker and get firey mad  – he can sure have the same happiness, too.  He loves trains.  Loves them.  Keep thinking he’ll grow out of them, but hasn’t, yet.  He loved every minute of this exhibit.  It wasn’t very crowded yet and he got to spend a lot of time checking them all out.  This was a special memory! You can see the wonder in his eyes.  So sweet. I love this picture of us! That afternoon Will helped daddy put up the lights!  Daddy lets Will do things mommy would never let him do!!  No, he didn’t really put up the lights, but he loved that daddy let him crawl up the ladder!
