For Kendall

Kevin said to me recently – please blog for our baby.  I know – I feel so bad that for this pregnancy that I really haven’t blogged much.  So – this post is just for Kendall.  I want her to know that my lack of blogging has nothing to do with me not being excited about her arrival!

Sweet Kendall – I absolutely can not wait to meet you!  The picture above is me at 37 1/2 weeks pregnant with you.  I took the pic myself, so you’ll have to excuse my photography skills.  That’s you in there – growing bigger every week!  You have been so much easier on me than your brother was.  The first part of the pregnancy was a little rougher as I was more sick in the beginning, but everything else has been easier.  With your brother – I swelled up to an unrecognizable size.  It was no fun.  With you – I am still wearing my rings and can still recognize my feet!  It is a wonderful thing!  Thank you for that!  :)  I know I haven’t blogged as much, but it isn’t because I am not excited.  I am a little busier this go around with your brother, etc.  However, I get so excited about meeting you.  I am so thrilled about having a daughter.  I don’t even think I fully comprehend what that will mean, but I can’t wait.  I think about the fun girl things we will do and the conversations we will have.  I’m nervous – that’s for sure.  I hope I can manage the two kid thing ok and I hope your brother is sweet with you.  He is so excited about having  a baby sister!  I really think he’ll be such a good big brother.   

The picture above is me in your room at 34 weeks.  You’ve grown a lot in the last month!!  The doctor thinks that you will be a little bigger than your brother was – so we will see.  I am just over 2 weeks away from my due date.  If you want to arrive early, I’m ok with that!  I was feeling really good until this past weekend.  Recently I’ve been really tired and my back has been hurting a good bit.  I want to hold you in my arms – it is way more fun than having you in my belly!  It is getting hot outside and so we stay inside a lot.  I am having another sonogram of you on Monday – I am looking forward to that.  It is always so nice to see you.  You are very, very active.  You get moving and you are all over the place.  I wonder what your personality will be.  Like mommy or like daddy?

I think your room is really cute.  I hope you like it.  I couldn’t find what I was looking for, so I had your bedding made.  It is just a lot of pinks and greens.  We didn’t do any showers or anything like we did with Will but that doesn’t mean that you are lacking for anything!  You are the first girl on both sides, so everyone has been very generous with cute girl gifts!  Your Mimi, Uncle Dustin, Aunt Tricia, Uncle J and LIndsey made huge contributions to your room.  They bought your bedding and the rug.  Your Ally, G.J. Neille, Aunt Kellie, Nick and Aunt Kayse have set you up with all sorts of fun stuff.  I feel like one of them has a new outfit for you every time we see them!  Your closet is plenty full of cute girlie outfits! I may have to change you several times a day to be able to use them all! Notice your silly brother below.  He’s quite a ham sometimes!  :)So please forgive me for not blogging as much this time.  I am over the moon excited about you joining our family!  Please hurry up and come out and play!!

Father’s Day

Well, this past Sunday was Father’s day and we got to celebrate Kevin!  Kevin is the most amazing daddy ever to Will.  I am continually amazed and thankful at the man he is.  He is so good with Will and I know he’ll be the same with Kendall.  I definitely don’t feel like I am doing it on my own with this parenting thing.  He is a huge participant and works very hard to be the kind of father Will needs.  These 2 are 2 peas in a pod!  They really are.  Will loves his daddy so much!  Will loves me too – but these two have a very special bond.  It is really sweet (and yes occasionally I get jealous).  But I am more thankful than anything that I married a man that is a good daddy.  Kevin – you rock!  We both love you so much and I love the way Will looks up to you.  Thanks for doing your job so well!

Sunday evening we had a huge treat and had dinner with Kevin’s dad (Jeff or G.J.) and Kellie and Nick were here, too!  Yay!  Here is a (very bad quality) pic of Jeff with his 2 grandsons.  Will loves his G.J so much and has so much fun with him.  We are so thankful to have such a good grandfather for Will and dad for Kevin.  We are blessed!

Arboretum Play Date

This past Friday, we joined Paula and Bryce for a fun play date at the Arboretum!  It was a lot of fun!  The boys always have a great time together.  They had so much fun that they both crashed hard that afternoon for extra long naps! Boys and water – just too hard to resist.

There is an amazing exhibit there right now.  They have these awesome glass statutes all throughout the park.  Made it even more interesting to walk around.

Lots of places to run free!  Fun to enjoy being outside before it gets too miserably hot!  Great day!

Mother’s Day

On Sunday, we celebrated Mother’s Day with Kevin’s family out at a park in Rockwall.  It was really nice and lovely and we didn’t have to fight crowds at a restaurant!  Celebrating mother’s day is special for so many reasons.  It is great to stop and celebrate our own mothers/grandmothers.  We have truly been blessed in that area.  It is also nice to stop and really think about what a blessing it is to be able to be a mother myself.  I know it is not a given and it is a true blessing.  I am so thankful to be a mommy to Will and can’t wait to be one to Kendall.Will ended up with quite a doozy of an “owie” on his head.  He was running like he always does and ended up head first on some concrete.  Ouch. Luckily these ducks were close by and a good distraction from the fall!  He really enjoyed feeding these little guys. 

On Monday night, Will and I took my mom to dinner (but no pics).  We are so thankful for our amazing moms!!  Thanks for loving us and our little boy.  We appreciate all you do for us and the time we spend with you.  We hope you feel loved and appreciated!

Sweet Cousins

Kevin’s other sister Kellie and her husband Nick came to celebrate the graduation, as well.  That meant Will and I FINALLY got to meet sweet baby Jackson in person!!  We had been left out!  We really enjoyed getting to see him and spend some time with him.  He’s a sweet, precious boy and Will loved him instantly!  We hope to spend a lot more time with this cute kiddo!

Congrats Kayse!

Last weekend Kevin’s little sister, Kayse, graduated from OU!  We are so very proud of her!  I even sucked it up and was a good sport about attending an OU event.  :)  We were very excited to celebrate this big milestone with all of Kevin’s family.  Kayse we wish you the best in all your future endeavors!  We are so proud of you for how far you’ve come and can’t wait to see what the future holds!  I got a few pics (of course).  Kayse is the one standing infront of the green backdrop getting her official pic taken right before she gets her diploma. Below I caught her on the big screen!  I had a pic of me on the big screen at Tech and thought I would see if I could catch her, too. The graduate and her family!!  Way to go Kayse!!
