Valentine's 2013

Yes, I know - who is even thinking about Valentine's as it was almost a month ago.  However, the kids were adorable, so I have to capture it on the blog. Mimi made them some really, really cute shirts.  These are my favorite so far.  Will was super pumped about his shirt! Here they are before school on Valentine's. I must say, they for sure have my heart!

Will's school had a Valentine's program again.  It is a great way to start your day off.  They were super cute and Will belted out the songs. He has come such a long way.  He did every motion and almost yelled the songs. It was fun to watch.  He is on the front row again, which makes him easier to find.  

 There might have been one moment where his friend was "crowding" him and he seemed to elbow with him for a minute.  We kind of looked at each other like - please tell me he's not about to throw down with his friend in front of everyone!  Luckily they spread out a bit and it was short lived.  Whew.

6 month stats

But wait, isn't she 8 months?  Why yes she is!  And didn't you take her to her 6 month appointment when she was really 7 months?  Oh yes, that's correct, too!  What a way behind post this is.  I don't know how, but we got off on our appointments.  We'll get caught up next time and actually go to her 9 month when she's 9 months (and maybe I'll post about it somewhere in that time frame, but maybe not).  You can all rest easy now.  :)

Okay, so her 6(7) month stats were:

Weight: 14.3 lbs (20%)

Height: 25 3/4 in (50%)

Head: 41.3 (25%)

So - she gained a good bit of weight and made some ground on her percentile from her 4(5) month appointment.  I can say I was not surprised because once she finally started feeling better after Christmas, she started eating like a champ! Around 6 months we started feeding her baby food.  And - after a day or two, she loved it.  She now eats impressive amounts of baby food and I really think she prefers it to bottles. She is eating 3 regular meals and bottles with and in between. I am hoping this means she'll continue to be a better eater than Will, but I'm not holding my breath. Here is one of her first tries at cereal.  She wasn't impressed!

Phone Dump

Working on sitting! If she’s calm, she can do pretty well.  But she’s too ready to get going to sit still long enough to sit for long.

 Someone got a new hair do! Sweet big brother! What, you don’t paint with your hat on?

And it began today…Mommy…Kendall has my toy!! Oh here we go.

Handsome Date

Last Saturday, Will and I went on a movie date. I had been feeling like he and I needed some good time together.  It seems naturally Kevin tends to Will and I tend to Kendall. So we took some time and went on a fun date.  Will took me to see Monsters, Inc.  It was a lot of fun and really good for us!  He was very excited and very sweet!

Baby Friends

Last night we went over to some friends from our Sunday School’s house for a birthday celebration.  Four of us from the same class had babies within 6 months of each other. Lily is the oldest, born in March, Kendall in July, Matthew in July and Luke in Sept.  We got a couple of cute pics of them.  Matthew has a big sister Molly who is also 3, so her and Will are in the same class, too.  They wanted nothing to do with taking pictures.  But the babies were cute!

Kendall’s Dedication

On Sunday, January 20th, we had Kendall’s dedication at our church. It was such a special, special day and I was thrilled that the church took some pictures of the service.  It is very sweet how our pastor does the dedication.  He took Kendall and walked her down one aisle and up the other aisle of the church.  All the way he was talking to her and to the church about the preciousness of Kendall’s life and the responsibility we have to raise her up in the Lord. I can’t believe that we are so lucky to be this girl’s parents.  We know we are blessed and we know it is a huge responsibility.  We made a promise to teach her about Jesus and to raise her in the church. Here are the pictures of the service. 

I love the way Kendall is looking at pastor George and has her arms flying in the air. She did this the whole time.

We were beyond grateful to have our family stand up there with us for this special day. We greatly value the love and support of our wonderful families.

After the service we had everyone over for lunch.  Here is her cute cake! I mentioned before I was attempting some craftiness.  The centerpieces is what I ended up with.  I should have taken closer pictures.  They turned out pretty cute, I must say! It ended up being a gorgeous day! A HUGE thanks to Dustin for smoking the most amazing brisket.  Seriously, this guy  can smoke some meat.  So, so tasty!  Thank you brother!! Thanks again to our family for being there. It meant so much to us!

Lagging

It is no secret that my blogging has slowed since Kendall was born.  But it looks a little funny that I did blog part of Christmas.  There was more!  I just haven't had the time/energy/desire to get it updated.  It will happen...someday.  This week I am trying to do a few crafty things to decorate for lunch at our house on Sun.  We are having Kendall's dedication at church (lunch after) and my mom bought me a paper cutting machine for Christmas.  I feel like I should do something crafty.  I'm not good at crafty, but I want to be.  Needless to say, I am learning.  I don't know that I'll actually have anything presentable to use, but we'll see.  Work and kids really get in the way of crafty.  :)  I am not giving up the kids, so maybe the work?  Ha.  No.  I will just have to learn to plan ahead if I want to do crafty.  On a side note, I am also way behind on my tv watching.  What is going on in my world?  And now this concludes the most random blog post...ever.
