6 Weeks Old

My handsome little man is six weeks old today! He is doing so well! In the last week he has really started smiling a lot more and making little noises. It just warms my heart to watch him when he's playing. He is growing like crazy! He is just barely still fitting in his newborn clothes. He is getting so long! He still isn't very chubby, but I am sure fat rolls will come in time!

He is sleeping great! It wasn't a fluke last week. He has consistently given me between 5-7 hours of sleep each night. I am thrilled! I look forward to him sleeping through the night, but for now, this works!

A picture taken today at 6 weeks...

He loves his little play gym mat thingy. I pulled it out last week and he will lay there for quite awhile just kicking his arms and legs. That's when we see him smile the most. On this particular day, I laid him down and he must have been tired. I turned back around and he had rolled to his side and napped. It was adorable so I of course needed a picture of it.

Here is a more accurate picture. I am trying really hard to capture one of those huge grins, but this is as close as I could come. You can see he's happy though. :)
I just love this little outfit so much. We took him up to Kevin's work and he got to meet all his co-workers. They enjoyed meeting him and we enjoyed showing him off. He was in a great mood the whole time we were there, which was awesome! Love this little grin he's got here...

Well at 6 weeks, we are really starting to get settled into life together. The first month was a tough adjustment, but we have really been able to play more and it feels so good to see him reacting to me more. I love when he watches me and I love more than anything when he gives me a huge grin! It is so cute when Kevin gets home because I really think he gets excited. Kevin will hold him and Will just stares at him like...you came back! He loves to hear his daddy's voice.

The Number Five

Well today the number five is significant. Today Will is five weeks old and last night Will slept for five hours straight!! This is huge! It may have been a fluke but he has consistently been giving me a four hour stretch so to get five was really exciting! He has slept great in his crib since last Friday night, so we are so proud of our little guy!

It is funny how things change. I love sleep more than the average person and to think that I am ecstatic about getting 5 straight hours is so funny.

I put him in his crib while he was awake to see what he would think about his mobile and he really did watch it for awhile! It is neat to see him reacting more to things visually. He has smiled a handful of times and I keep trying to catch it on camera, but I haven't yet. Soon I hope!

On Sunday Will made his first trip out to Ally's house in Forney. He had a great time!

I am ready for this weather to dry out! The rain was great, but enough already! I need to get out and walk more and the rain is making it difficult. I've got baby weight to lose - work with me here! We did get out this morning and go to our Square One class, which was great, as always. Kevin and I are going to hit up Sam's Club when he gets home tonight to stock up on formula. Will goes through it quick so we need to save where we can! I can't believe how big he is getting. The brown outfit above is a newborn and he is about too long for it. The 3 months clothes are huge on him so he isn't ready for those yet. He is somewhere inbetween. They don't have too many 0-3 month sized clothes out there. I think that is where we are right now. Also this week his baby acne is clearing up...yay!

Our Will is a Month Old!

Can you believe he is a month old already? Sometimes it seems like the hospital was such a long, long time ago and others it seems like it is impossible for him already to be a month old! He has been such a blessing to our family. We can't imagine life without him! We are learning so much everyday about his little personality and his needs.

He unofficially weighs 9.5 lbs! (I jumped on the scale with/without him to weigh him). That's a healthy boy! He weighed 7.2 at birth...so he is definitely eating like a champ! I am convinced he is in a growth spurt because he is eating so much the last few days. I wish I knew how much longer he has gotten. I put some footed pants on him yesterday and he barely fit in them. He'll be out of the newborn clothes in no time! We are suffering from a bad case of infant acne...we are hoping this clears up soon!

He seems to enjoy the bath for a little while. He eventually gets fussy, but he hangs in there for awhile! Here he is with me dressed up in our game day attire! Go Tech! We actually won against Nebraska today, too! I am sure Will's team spirit helped!
Kevin has also learned to love the Red Raiders! I think we're a cute Tech family! So here is something we have been working hard on the last few days. I hadn't moved him to his room or his crib yet. I started out small on Thursday by trying to get him to nap in his crib. It was a rough day and a slow start, but Friday night he slept in the crib all night! Well, he woke up every 3 hrs, but he slept there! We are very proud of this step! I had been desperate a few nights and let him sleep all night in the swing. He actually slept ALL night in the swing - which was glorious. I know it is a bad habit to start, but the night's sleep was amazing. I am working hard to only do that out of desperation and not make a habit of it. We'll cross our fingers for another good night! Here is him napping there for the first time...

Today my friend Lindy came by for a visit! Will enjoyed spending some time with her!

Today has been a big day for visitors! Will got to meet his wonderful Great-Grandparents!! Mimie & Papa drove all the way from Tallahassee, Florida to visit sweet Will. He is so excited that they will be here over the next week and will get to spend more time with them.

He loved snoozing with his Mimie! He can't wait to do "projects" with her. Kevin and his sisters have many fun stories about project time with Mimie. Soon he'll be ready!

So what a month it has been! I am so thankful for this child and for the time I get to spend with him. Each week is getting a little easier and I am getting a little more comfortable with my new job as a mommy. We love you Will!!

Will Meets Aunt Kellie!

Aunt Kellie (Kevin's sister) came for a visit! Kellie lives right outside Nashville so she made a special trip to meet Mr. Will and to head up to Oklahoma for an OU game with her mom and sister.

Today is my mom's 50th Birthday! Happy Birthday Mom!!

Yesterday the family celebrated her big day. We went with a 50 & Fabulous theme rather than an Over the Hill one. She is fabulous and no where near old! :)
