Nursery Progress

So we have made some progress on the nursery. While it isn't perfectly decorated as we have some open wall space - the big stuff is in and it is looking pretty cute, I think!
We hung the quilt that came with the bedding on the wall. I totally stole this idea from my sister-in-law Tricia, and it works!
My wonderful mother-in-law, Allyson, made Will some curtains. Here is a close-up of the tie backs - footballs...so cute!
Thanks for the curtains, Ally! We love them!

A little tribute to Kevin's alma mater. You can't tell but the baseball on the shelf is signed by Nolan Ryan. Pretty cool!

Here is Will's changing table/hutch.

I'm not totally sure what I'm going to do with this open wall space. Ideas anyone?
Think Will will like his room? I hope so!!

34 Weeks

So I'm not sure what is going on with this blog - I lost my options to format and when I upload pics I can't tell where they separate - I just see a bunch of code. Weird. I'm winging this.

So here's the 34 week belly! It has grown a lot in the last 4 weeks and I can't imagine what it will look like by the end of this thing! I went to the doctor yesterday and amazingly he says I measure exactly 34 weeks. So for those that thing I'm huge...I guess I'm actually right on schedule. That was good to hear. I go back in 2 weeks and that's when they start actually checking out the progress. I can't believe I'm almost to that point. Nothing new at the appointment yesterday. Will's heartbeat was strong and perfect. He's very, very active and puts on quite a show in the evenings. Sometimes it looks like an alien is in my body. My doctor assured me he has never had a patient explode! :) Good to know.

This weekend Kevin and I are looking forward to spending some time with a great group of friends we have made in our Community Group from church. Then next weekend - the showers start! Yay!

Better Week

So my last post was a little negative...this week things have been better. The hormones I think have not been nearly as crazy. Well, I don't think they have been. You might ask Kevin for his opinion. :) I think he would also say I've been a little less crazy. Also, I had been really having trouble sleeping. It started late last week. One night I just laid wide awake after one of the times I got up to go to the ladies room. Then several nights I kept waking up every 2 hrs. on the dot. It was driving me crazy!! Several people told me it was my body's way of preparing me for when Will comes home. What?!? I need sleep while I can get it! Anyway, the last 2 nights have been wonderful! I've been sleeping with the crazy huge preggo pillow and one night I only got up once and last night I didn't get up at all! Glorious, glorious sleep! Yay! Man I love to sleep!

I also have some relief in the feet department. I had been wearing this one pair of shoes to work everyday. They are flats and a bigger size than I normally wear. By the end of the day - my feet were miserable. The swelling just made putting on shoes torture. At lunch on Tuesday I decided to just go buy the most comfortable shoes I could find. I didn't care what they looked like and I didn't really care what they cost - I wanted comfy! I think I found them. They aren't that cute with work clothes, but they are mules and they are super soft! Yay! Relief! Seriously, it is a little piece of heaven compared to shoving my feet into actual dress shoes. Oh the little things in life that make all the difference in the world. My feet have thanked me profusely. :)

So I felt I should post these very positive changes from this week after my not so positive one from last week. I go to the doctor tomorrow - I'll be 34 weeks tomorrow! Wow! Hope everyone else is having a wonderful week, too!

Latest Update

So I haven't blogged too much lately and I've been terrible at missing excellent photo ops. I don't know what my deal is. Let's see...we had an excellent afternoon a few weekends ago with Lori, Brian, & Meredith. I didn't get a single pic! We had so much fun visiting them and watching their 2 1/2 year old daughter just jump right in the pool like a pro. The weekend before that we caught up with 2 different sets of friends that we hadn't seen in ages...Matt & Courtney (congrats to them on their little one due early next year!) and Ty & Kelley (who made us a fantastic dinner). No pics of either one. This past Sunday we went over to the Snider's house and enjoyed a great dinner from the grill and got to spend a little time with my adorable nephew. He also jumps in the pool like a pro with no fear. No pics of that either. Dylan is growing up so much - getting so tall! He's so funny and the things he says just amaze me. He's a little person!

So the pregnancy is progressing along. I'm down to 7 weeks to go! My poor husband is most likely very, very ready for me to stop being prengnant. It is the strangest thing...this entire pregnancy I really haven't had any strange food cravings, haven't had any weird mood swings (well other than the one break-down early on induced by being in the middle of busy season and having absolutely nothing that fit), and overall had it relatively easy. I mean I've had swelling and back pain, etc. but nothing like the horror stories I've heard of other people. And then all of the sudden - within the last week - I've turned completely hormonal. I mean it is the weirdest and smallest things that make me grumpy and moody. What's up with that? Then yesterday I totally bit it walking across the Pei Wei parking lot. Like I went down hard on my hands and knees. I am totally fine and didn't hit my belly or anything but I did take the skin off my knee. Can you say graceful?!? Seriously - what's the deal? I'm not sure. I'm pregnant, I know. I guess I just thought the end would be less hormonal...not more. Who knows. Kevin keeps asking what is wrong and what can he do, etc. But I think it is just one of those lovely things that happens. I'm not crazy...right? Ok, maybe I am. Poor Will - his mama is incredibly klutzy and well a smidge on the emotional side. I just can't wait until he gets here! 7 weeks - 7 more weeks. What will he look like? What will he be like? Will he sleep like a champ like his mom? Will he grow really fast or slow? Will I have a clue how to be a mom? Will my maternal instinct kick in and hear him when he cries in the night? Will I be strong and change those stinky diapers without gagging? These are things that plague my brain. Oh the mystery of what is to come! So exciting...so scary all at the same time. Well, for now I will do my best to keep my feet on the ground and avoid anymore clumsiness. Please pray for Will and his safety!! :)

Dr. Appt

I had another doctor's appointment today. I now go every 2 weeks. He did the usual...listen to the heart beat (144), measure my belly (right on schedule believe it or not), and ask if I was doing okay (I am). Nothing major to report - so far everything seems to be going really well. He said it felt like Will's head was down - so that is a good thing. For now we just hurry up and wait!

Happy Anniversary Kevin!

Two years ago today we said "I Do" to living our lives together. I am so glad we did! I am so thankful that you pursued me and convinced me to get to know you. I never could have imagined what you being in my life would bring. We've had some not so good times and we've had many, many wonderful memories. And soon we'll be adding a son to our lives. Thank you for loving me the way you do. You are my best friend and an amazing husband. I can't wait to see what life is like in 2057!! :)
Picture of the night he proposed. I was just a little excited - can you tell? And he gave me the most beautiful ring that my fingers are too swollen to wear right now. Bummer.
A few wedding pics from the big day...nu=3244>;9:>2:7>WSNRCG=3236:3443::97nu0mrj.jpg">

And an amazing honeymoon! Oh how I wish we were hanging in the cabana right now!
This also serves as great motivation to lose that baby weight (and let's be honest that newlywed weight)! Here was us infront of our awesome room. A lazy river right outside our door!
Love these pictures and love these memories. Can't wait to see what comes next!!

30 Weeks!

Here's my big 'ole belly in all her glory!

And I've got 10 weeks to go?!?
