We recently had Will’s 18 month (that were really 19 month) pictures taken at the Arboretum. Whew – it is much harder to photograph a kid on the move. I love the picture below because this pretty much sums up our session. Us chasing Will around! The poor photographer really wanted him to sit and pose but that was surely not going to happen. There was too much to see! I think she did get some cute ones. 
Nope, this milestone isn’t about Will. It is about my Honda! She hit 100,000 miles this past week! I know, this is silly but I kind of got a little reminiscent about the car once she hit her milestone.
For awhile, I’ve been thinking it is time to get rid of her. But, now that she is officially 10 years old and right at 100k miles – I’m growing attached. Now Kevin probably feels differently. Unfortunately he’s had the pleasure of driving her since Will was born. She’s a 2 door Accord coupe. Kevin’s a tall guy – you get the picture not exactly a car he would pick. But when I picked her, I was just a year out of college - a young single girl. I bought her brand new and I was proud. I knew I wanted to get my money’s worth but I probably really didn’t think she’d still be around 10 yrs later!

I often take pictures of Will on my phone. Today I was scrolling through them and thought I should post them here so that I have them saved. Some of them are pretty cute!
Today Will was insistent that his doggie have breakfast with him. Well, ok then. He won that battle.
Kevin sent me this one when I was out of town for work one morning. Sweet little boy ready for the day!

Easter Sunday ended up being a nice, calm day. Kevin’s family was all still in town, so they all joined us for church. I had to work the nursery at our regular service, so mom went with me to the early service and Kevin and his family went to the 9:30 service. The service was really, really good. Not that we should only celebrate the resurrection of Christ once a year – it is just good to stop and really think about what that means. Wow. What a gift – and for me? I surely don’t deserve it and neither do you. But – it was given to us…freely. Up from the grave he arose! He is risen! He is risen indeed!
After the service, we all went and had a low-key lunch at SpringCreek Bar-b-que. It was quite nice.
I did my best at getting pictures of the little tooter in his Sunday clothes. As I’ve mentioned before, he’s tough to photograph!
After church, we all just sort of relaxed. I think we were all worn out from the exciting last few days. I’m sure next year when Will is more into egg hunting we’ll do a hunt at the house.
Allyson got Will a duck in his Easter basket. Lately Will has been very playful with many of his stuffed animals. He frequently grabs one and plays and hugs on it. He isn’t attached to any one in particular. It is kind of like the blankies. He just likes them all. You’ll frequently see him with a monkey, a puppy, a doggie (yes the two are different in his world), and of course Mickey.
Some other interesting Will facts of late are: he’s gotten really, really loud. Like really loud. It is like he finally found his inner man voice. It isn’t just when he’s upset – he’ll frequently yell things like DADDY! or Yayyy!! It is cute and well loud. He loves for me to sing the abc’s to him at night when we snuggle before bed. I don’t know why, but he requests it every single time. I sing terribly, but I oblige. He tries to sing along, I love this. He is talking – a lot. Not many sentences, but he says most every word and is communicating fairly well. He still signs “more” which is funny. We get the sign while he says more quite often. The only word he really doesn’t say quite correctly is cup – it comes out pup. Cute. He plays really, really well with his toys alone. He wants to know that one of us is near by, but he will play by himself a good bit. He is now playing with more than just a ball. There for about a month, he wouldn’t play with anything but a ball or bat. He will also walk up to one of us and sort of grab our hand and say “let’s play.” Ah. What are you going to say to that? Of course he says it with the cutest face and eyes around. He has gotten much more social. He was horribly shy and timid for about 6 months. Lately, he is much more playful with other kids. He even gives some of his friends hugs when we leave his school. Just adorable. He can name each of his school friends. We have his class picture on the fridge – I don’t know why but that is impressive to me. He’s growing up. He’s definitely not a baby anymore. He’s looking older, too. I sort of want to freeze him right now. The amount of knowledge he is soaking up is just amazing. Everyday he shows us something new. He also is head strong and can throw quite the fit. So, that’s why I said “sort of.” :)
Well, I didn’t intend to turn this Easter Sunday post into a “what’s Will doing these days” post, it just happened.
No, no, no. It isn’t my news. :)
But…Kevin’s sister Kellie is pregnant!! On Friday night she pretended to have one more gift for Kevin. She brought out this box. Someone asked if it was a puppy. Nope! Not a puppy. It was baby cupcakes!
Whew! We had a whirlwind weekend! We celebrated and then celebrated some more! Friday night everyone came over to our house and we celebrated Kevin’s birthday. It was a lot of fun. I cooked up some baked ziti and Kevin’s grandmother made us some brownie delight (also known as brownies and ice cream). I also thought it was a good time to capture pictures of everyone. So bear with me!
These two are way too cute not to try and capture. However, the little one is hard to get to stay still! I tried.
On Saturday, we got to celebrate Allyson’s 50th Birthday! That’s why all the family was in town. Her actual birthday is May 3rd, but everyone took advantage of the long weekend and the chance to celebrate together. They had a fun mexican dinner at their house. We look forward to celebrating again on your actual day, too!
So thankful to have so much family able to celebrate together. I know Will had a blast all weekend! He was worn out and spoiled rotten! We are having to de-tox from all the attention. He got a little crazy towards the end of the weekend. We’ll get him back to reality soon!
